Kristen and I have both become increasingly concerned and passionate
about improving the education system in Cape Town. We see that UCT is
consistently rated the best university in Africa [
link], however it still suffers from a high failure rate - a reality haunting most students [

What is the problem? What is the cause? Dr. Max Price, the
current vice chancellor of UCT, has even "introduced a controversial new
entrance scheme", but even he admits that the system is not perfect [

So if the best university in Africa suffers from high failure
rates, and continues to struggle with an imperfect system, what chance
does every other university in South Africa have? What about the rest of Africa?
An interesting challenge for sure.
